Dangle fest. As lacrosse guys, you may not know the term. In fact, I didn’t know it until earlier this morning, but this kid dangled his way to the net. It’s what hockey players call getting crossed up en route to the cooker.
He put an exclamation point on his goal though by slapping the easy button, which begs the question: What are you going to do this Winter and Spring after scoring? We thought long and hard here at Lax Unlimited to provide you with some inspiration though it probably won't be as awesome as a 'Wishy Washy Dangle Fest'. This is what we came up with...
The easiest, and perhaps least penalized celebration would have to be the Tiger Woods fist pump. Maybe you forgot about this after Tiger’s subpar or above par performances on the Tour this summer, but this was his staple.
Another trend that you could bring to your school would be the Lambeau Leap. Aaron Rodgers has put his own twist on it of late, but Brett basically cornered the market. Other thoughts we had included Joe Horn’s cell phone celebration, but that seemed tricky to pull of in a lax game.
My personal favorite is a bit outdated, but for those of us who remember Larry Johnson might enjoy it. He used to make a huge L with his arms when he dunked over people when he played for the Knicks. It was straight fire.
The lacrosse community typically does the default group hug after a goal, which don't get
me wrong is a solid fall-back plan. However, I think we should make a conscious effort to up the ante a little bit. Why not think of something innovative to get the crowd fired up?
